Plainva 0.1.2: the edges you only find by using it
Right after the first release I did the one thing I hadn’t really done before: I stopped building Plainva and started living in it — all day, in my own vaults, synced through Google Drive across two machines. That’s where you find the edges a test suite never will. Plainva 0.1.2 is the result. No headline feature — just a couple of weeks of “why does it do that,” fixed.
Making sync trustworthy
The worst one first: abandoning a cloud login in the browser used to freeze the whole app, which feels exactly like a crash. Gone. Then two things you only ever see on real, synced vaults — .CONFLICT files appearing out of nowhere (a race between autosave and the upload), and folders I deleted inside the app quietly coming back from the cloud. Both fixed. And a deletion that would wipe out a large share of your files now asks a second time before it touches anything in the cloud.
A graph you can actually move around
The graph looked nice but felt stiff. Now the middle mouse button or Ctrl-drag pans the map, a drag across empty space draws a selection box, and you can move several notes together. A small pin needle remembers your arrangement — or hands it back to the automatic layout when you switch it off. And link suggestions now drop the link on the actual matching passage, with a preview, instead of tacking it onto the end of the note.
The small stuff that adds up
“Reveal in file tree,” a one-click collapse-all for folders, and — when you remove a vault from the list — the option to forget its app data too. None of this makes a feature list. It’s just the difference between tested and lived in.
