What is actually in here.
The landing page shows the six reasons people switch. This is the rest — grouped by what you are doing rather than by which handbook page happens to document it. Every entry links to that page.
Writing
- A real Markdown editor Live preview, slash menu, block drag handles, callouts, wiki links, tables with inline editing, math and Mermaid.
- Reading and source view Three modes per note, a default you choose, and a document header with an icon and a colour of its own.
- Templates Placeholders for title, date and cursor, templates bound to a database, and vault templates that scaffold whole structures.
- Search Full-text search as you type, with operators, quoted phrases and exclusions, jumping straight to the hit.
- Daily notes and tasks A note per day, checkbox tasks gathered across the whole vault, and promotion into a task database.
Structure
- Databases over notes (.base) Eight views — table, board, calendar, gallery, timeline, pinboard, list and graph — with typed properties.
- Relations Links between databases with cardinality and computed reverse columns; sub-items for hierarchies.
- Pinboard A sticky-note board over a .base, with colours and pinning — the Google Keep shape, in your own files.
- Graph and cleanup A context graph beside every note and a vault map with semantic zoom, plus tools for orphans, broken links and unlinked mentions.
- Open Knowledge Format A small, documented frontmatter convention so scripts and other tools can read your vault too.
Keeping it
- Sync through your storage WebDAV/Nextcloud, S3-compatible, Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox — offline queue, three-way merge, visible conflict resolution.
- Cloud accounts One wizard per provider: pick the account, pick the services, sign in once.
- Version history Automatic snapshots per file with a comparison view and restore, plus undelete for files you removed.
- Backups A daily ZIP of the whole vault, written outside the vault folder, with retention you set.
- Import from other apps Notion, Evernote, Google Keep, Simplenote, Logseq and Markdown folders — with a report of what came across.
Around the notes
- Calendar and tasks CalDAV, Google and Microsoft calendars, recurring tasks, meeting notes linked to an event.
- Email as a note IMAP and Microsoft Graph — reading, composing, and filing a message as a note. Marked experimental.
- Encrypted workspaces End-to-end encrypted sync for a shared vault. Experimental, and awaiting an independent review.
- Mobile apps Android in open beta, iOS in TestFlight — the same vault, synced through your own cloud.

And what is not in here
No plugin ecosystem, no canvas, no Dataview — .base filters cover a good part of the last one. Encrypted workspaces and email are marked experimental in the app, and stay marked until an independent review says otherwise. Import runs on the desktop only; the notes reach your phone through sync like any other file.
